Nand Persaud One Day Sprint Classic Over 40 entered as Republic Bank enters as sponsor for today’s event
The Nand Persaud and Company, Mega One Day Sprint Classic Horserace Meet today will see over 40 horses in action. The event which is promoted by the Sky Plus Inc. Promotion Group and will be held at the Company’s Racing Facility, No. 36 Village, Macedonia Estate, Corentyne, Berbice.

Republic Bank has come on board as they join hands with Beverage giants Banks DIH Limited and Trophy Stall as lead sponsors for the event along with Poonai Pharmacy, NTN Television Station, Mohamed and Seeta Rahim (rice farmer of C.W.C), Cyril Singh, Navindra Roopnarine (jones- rice farmer of BBP), NPC Trucking Service, NPG Packaging and Plastics Inc. as well as a number of subsidiaries of the Nand Persaud Group of Company Limited. On Tuesday NTN Television Station handed over their prize to the organisers.
With prize monies totaling over $4M cash, trophies and other incentives, the seven race meet is expected to be keenly contested. The track which is arguable the best in the country is in perfect condition. The races being contested over 880 and 660 yards and with most of the top horses in the categories set to compete some fast times are expected.

The H3 Maiden and Guyana Bred Open line up read so far, Not this Time, Miss Olympic, Sitara, and Storm Dancer.
A keen battle is expected in the Guyana Bred 2 year-old Maiden event with the likes of Flash the Cash, Dazzling Girl, Awesome Bandit Princess Selena, Maryann and War Story in the fray.
The race for animals classified J and Lower, 2 years Guy Bred Open features Justify the Heat, Plane Land, Awesome Banner, Uprising King in contention.
First Prince, The Rock, Pikachu and Touch the Cash are among the entries in the event for L Class Open horses.
There will definitely be a winner in the as the likes of Princess Celine, Star Quality, Pinky Promise, Careful Choice have been entered in the race for L Class non winners.
The final event will be for horses that did not place in the two L Class races.
The Champion Jockey, Trainer and Stable will all be rewarded with trophies and other incentives compliments of the Mr. Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall. The Coordinator is Mohendra ‘Mohin’ Persaud. (Samuel Whyte)
