On Friday Oct 18, representatives of GAIL Foundation Inc., travelled some fifty five miles up the Corentyne River to the picturesque Indigenous Village of Siparuta to install and hand over sets of swings, slides & see-saws to the students of the Siparuta Primary School.
At a simple handing over ceremony held in the school building, the GAIL Foundation team was warmly welcomed by the Head Teacher of the school Ms. Sharon Coppin and Mr. Gregory Rambarran in his remarks introduced the members of the GAIL Foundation team and gave a brief history of the GAIL Foundation and its contributions to various communities over the past years since it was founded in 2011 by U.S. Attorney Gail Seeram, Award Winning Immigration Attorney, based in Orlando, Florida. He revealed that the donation was a fulfillment of a promise made by Ms. Seeram in March 2018, when she was approached by teachers of the school while she was there for the commissioning of similar play equipment at the nearby Siparuta Nursery School.
Mr. Arnold Sukhraj of GAIL Foundation in his discourse with those present conveyed greetings on behalf of Attorney Gail Seeram, and her family and entertained the students during a “pop quiz”.
The Blessing of the equipment was done by Pastor Lilowan Singh and Village Councillor Kingsley Hutson welcomed and thanked the team for the much needed donation.
At the conclusion of the ceremony the students and teachers thanked the GAIL Foundation and received bags of goodies compliments of Ms. Seeram, before gathering around the equipment for photo opportunities.
The team expressed thanks to Mr, Imran Shaffieullah for transporting the equipment to the school and Mr. Surendra Rookman (Pack) and his workers for fabricating and installing the play equipment thus ensuring the successful execution of the project.
The GAIL Foundation has successfully completed playground projects in Guyana such as
Equipment and play room at the Children of Promise Orphanage in Smythfield, the Red Cross Convalescent Home in Georgetown, the New Amsterdam Special Needs School, the Orealla Nursery School, the Siparuta Nursery School, the Guyana Relief Council Shelter for Families, the Bless the Children Home in Industry East Coast Demerara, the Mahaica Children’s Home, the Smythfield Nursery School, the Lochaber Primary School and the Bohemia Primary School. Some of the institutions also received libraries, sport equipment, learning aids, toys, etc.
GAIL Foundation Inc. was founded for the advancement of charitable institutions to benefit children globally. It is an IRC 501(c) (3) non –profit organization. The acronym GAIL stands for Giving Abundantly In Life. The GAIL Foundation has also successfully donated in Trinidad, Colombia & Cuba.
