The final of the fourth annual Limacol Football tournament will kick off from 21:00hrs this evening at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground on
Carifesta Avenue with the respective Under-20 sides of Fruta Conquerors FC and Santos FC doing battle for the $400,000 first place cash prize.
This is the first occasion in Guyana’s football history that two youth teams are contesting the final of a senior tournament and the respective captains had noted during the week that they are both focused on finishing the tournament on a high. The runners’ up will pocket $200,000.
The third place playoff from 19:00hrs will be contested between Riddim Squad and Pele Football Club, both losing their semis via kicks from the penalty mark. The winner of this clash will receive $100,000 while the loser will walk away with $50,000.
