Cycling action will continue in the Ancient County of Berbice on Sunday November 3 when the A. Ally and Sons General Stores sponsors a 50-mile road race organised by the Flying Ace Cycle Club (FACC) of New Amsterdam.
The event is being held in memory of the late owner of the chain of Stores who passed away earlier this year; the event is open to cyclists throughout Guyana. Race time would be 10:00hrs from the Super Store Branch at Main and New Street, New Amsterdam.
Riders will then proceed to the Nand Persaud Rice Complex located at No. 36 Village Corentyne before turning back to finish at the place of origin. Lucrative prizes are at stake for the first ten finishers and the first five novice riders.
There will also be eight prime prizes up for the taking. The company which was one of the leading sponsors of cycle racing a few years ago had taken a hiatus from the sport. CEO of the Company Fizal Ally will be on hand to send the riders on their way and along with family and staff be on hand for the presentation of the prizes. Coordinator is Randolph Roberts.
