Defending champions St. Pius Primary’s rampaging form prior to yesterday’s quarterfinal round of the Courts Pee Wee Football Tournament, ran into a stumbling block in Tucville Primary which defeated them 3-2 via kicks from the penalty mark.
The score after full and extra-time had read 2-2 with Jamal Fraser and Bryan Brown scoring one goal each for St. Pius while Joshua Austin and Wayne Solomon scored for Tucville. Shane Dalrymple scored in the fourth minute in St. Agnes’ 1-0 win over 2017 Champions, West Ruimveldt. St. Agnes has been the bridesmaid on many occasions but the team is confident they can go all the way in this edition.
Earlier, Ricardo Hazel and Anfernee Cummings both scored one goal each in extra time to lead Genesis past Timehri Primary in the first quarterfinal clash of the day. Meanwhile, North Georgetown defeated Soesdyke 3-1 via kicks from the penalty mark after full and extra time had finished 1-1.
The semifinal round will get underway this Saturday at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground on Carifesta Avenue that is the host venue for the entire tournament.
