The Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) in collaboration with the National Sports Commission (NSC) and Ministry of Education (MOE) will stage the 2019 edition of the National Schools Novices, Elite Teams and Singles Table Tennis championships from October 25-27 next at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH), Homestretch Avenue.
According to a release from the GTTA, the championships which attracted over 200 participants from thirty five (35) schools across Guyana last year are aimed at achieving key objectives inclusive of providing the opportunity for new talents to have an active platform to showcase and expose their talents and re-establishing schools’ championships as the basis for the GTTA’s development thrust.
The following categories will be contested during the three-day championships: • Open elite team (18 years & under) • Open boys’ novices team (18 years & under) • Open girls’ novices team (18 years & under) • Open boys’ novices singles (18 years & under) • Open girls’ novices singles (18 years & under) • Open elite boys’ singles (18 years & under) • Open elite girls’ Singles (18 years & under).
Schools are being urged to submit the names of their players and their confirmation slip by Thursday October 24th to ensure their participation in the tournament.
