The second annual, “Kick Out Prostate Cancer! Keep Men in the Game” Awareness Veteran’s Football Festival, organised and sponsored by The Outdoor Store and Pet Shop-ABSAA and held on Sunday last at the GFC Ground has been deemed a success by the organizers.
A number of competitive 90-minute matches were contested: In game one, Club 45 ‘B’ defeated Club 45 ‘A’ 2-1 and in game two, Wales Masters and Pele were deadlocked 3-3 at the end of regulation and extra time, but Wales Masters won 8-7 on kicks from the penalty mark.
Mr. Dwayne Butters, Founder of the James Butters Prostate Cancer Awareness Network addressed the gathering and handed out literature on prostate cancer. Fourteen coupons will be distributed for free consultation and examination at the Guyana Cancer Foundation and Cancer Institute of Guyana.
