A team from the Guyana Oil Company Limited (GUYOIL) headed by the Marketing and Sales Manager, Jacqueline James, traveled to Kato Village Region Eight to distribute school supplies to the children of the village.
As a part of the company’s Hinterland Outreach under GUYOIL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme, the visiting team exercised this programme on Friday, October 4, last.
The Toshao, Clifton Perreira, and Village Councilor, Elizabeth Abrahams, received the supplies that consisted mainly of school shoes for the children of the village, the statement by GUYOIL said.
The team received support from the Guyana Defence Force in the form of air transport to Kato.
According to the statement, James noted the past few months GUYOIL has been involved in several CSR activities to give back to the Guyanese.
GUYOIL intends to continue its efforts to not only offer Excellence in Service but to give support to initiatives that will better the society they serve.
The villagers expressed their appreciation to GUYOIL for the support and requested that similar projects are done in the future.
