At age 62, I started getting Old Age pension benefits from NIS, which continued for two years. As an overseas pensioner, I am required to submit a notarized Life Certificate every three months to continue receiving my pension, which was supposed to be deposited into my account. This is three years now since I have been sending these certificates along with a covering letter each time to the supervisor at the Brickdam Branch of the NIS with no action taken to continue reimbursing me. I sent my email and phone number but none were used to make contact with me with regards to the status of my claims. In addition, there is no email address of the NIS office for me to make direct contact with anyone.
I need my money, and I feel that this uncouth and callous attitude of the NIS is indicative of an intent to defraud me of what is rightfully mine.
I am sincerely hoping that through publishing this letter some awareness will be created so that the NIS will fulfill its obligations to me.
Sincerely,
Pooran Dyalram
