Guyana and West Indies all-rounder Keemo Paul has given back to the youths on the island of Wakenaam. Paul donated two pairs of cric
ket boots to Essequibo U15 Captain Terrence Softleigh and Essequibo U15 Vice Captain and left arm spinner Gladewin Henry Jr.
Paul, who plays for Noitgedacht Sports Club, said he is pleased to give back to the youths, adding that it’s the first time they had the Captain and Vice Captain for the Essequibo U15 team coming from Wakenaam. Paul noted that Softleight is a talented all-rounder, while Henry Jr. is a leg spinner with lots of promise.
Siddiq Mohamed, Captain of Sans Souci Jaguars Sports Club made the presentation on behalf of Paul who is currently with the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Mohamed expressed gratitude to Paul and thanked S and K Construction and General Supplies for presenting his club with uniforms.
Paul was born in Saxacalli and began his cricket career in Wakenaam.
The presentation took place on Sunday at the Wakenaam Community Centre ground after the final of the Birbal Constructing Establishment T20 competition.
