DEAR EDITOR,
I am a currently a student of Isa Islamic School. I would like to propose a solution that will save both our families and our country. This solution is prayer. Prayer is indeed the best thing anyone can do in a time of hardship.
It makes us humble, protects us from evil, cures our problems, and most of all, brings us closer to our creator. We cannot deny it, our nation is in trouble and we are facing peril.
You can turn on your television or scroll through Facebook right now and see that there is so much corruption, and hatred in the hearts of those around us. We are contending with issues that are causing the very foundation of our country to crumble.
In the face of all of this, it’s important that we pray not only for the healing of the nation, but also for our president and all those in government leadership who are in positions to make change happen.
Praying for godly leaders is productive towards God’s plan and purpose for our nation. We are reminded in the Qur’an that with God, nothing is impossible. No problem is too great for Him. Seasons of distress and hardship call for faithful, fervent prayer by God’s people.
We cannot expect healing to come to our nation from disobedience to God. We must be submissive, humble, obedient and ready to change our lives for the betterment of our nation. When light stands against darkness, light always wins. Prayer is that light that will be the saviour for us all.
Respectfully yours,
Student
