DEAR EDITOR,
The March 2, 2020 election date is over a year after December 21, 2018 and way over the 90 days since the Caribbean Court of Justice handed down its judgement. Is Guyana’s public service so incompetent it takes so long to organize credible election? I beg to differ. It was likely a stalling tactic.
The opposition is just as power hungry. They seem more concern about mere election than how to improve the people’s quality of life. If they fought with the same vigour to insist the Granger Administration delivered a better quality of life, things in Guyana would be better.
The point is there are no good guys or bad guys in this struggle. There are 2 political parties jostling for power. The people’s wellbeing is not a priority. The people must realize that they must be forceful and demand better from both government and opposition because in the Westminster system they both play a vital role. Wake up Guyana! Only the people could free the people.
Yours truly,
Brian E Plummer
