Today marks match day number two of the ninth annual Courts Peewee football tournament involving primary schools in and around Georgetown and as far as Timehri going head to head in under-11 action at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground on Carifesta Avenue.
The opening day’s play last week was eventful with defending champions St. Pius being most dominant after recording an 8-0 victory over a despondent Mae’s School team.
The champions of 2017, West Ruimveldt Primary, got their campaign off in positive fashion after winning the March Past but the day didn’t end as well as they had hoped after drawing 0-0 with Craig Primary.
In other results of the day, Plaisance Bosco Orphanage beat St. Agnes 2-0, while Uitvlugt got past Ann’s Grove in a similar two goal fashion. Jaden Tasher netted a hat-trick in Soesdyke’s 4-1 win over F.E. Pollard, while Tucville gained a walkover against Mocha Arcadia. Enterprise also had an easy three points after Smith Memorial were a no-show.
Meanwhile, J.E. Burnham needled St. Stephen’s thanks to Immanuel Lewis 18th minute strike and North Georgetown edged Redeemer Primary 2-1.
