Six female officers of the Guyana Police Force/Guyana Association of Women Police (GAWP)led by Deputy Commissioner Maxine Graham, DSM and
assisted by Superintendent Grace Davis on Friday departed Guyana to Anchorage, Alaska, United States of America.
They are there to attend the International Association of Women Police 57th Annual Training Conference being held from September 23-27, 2019.
The conference, according to the Guyana Police Force, is being hosted in Anchorage for the third time and being held under the theme: “Mentoring the Next Generation”, It attracted over 800 delegates from 43 countries.
The opening ceremony was held on Monday at the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Centre, followed by the parade of the nations through the downtown area of Alaska.
During the conference, delegates will benefit from training in areas such as Leadership, the origins of Sexual Violence, Gender Equality in Law Enforcement and Human Trafficking, among others.
