The Georgetown Softball Cricket League Inc. (GSCL) will be launching the 2019 edition of the Prime Minister’s T20 Cup at 17:00hrs today at GNIC Sports Club. The tournament is set to start on November 1 and conclude two days later at the Everest CC.
According to President of the GSCL, Ian John, the response from the teams overseas has been good and for the first time the tournament will included matches in the over 50 category. John informed that local teams are urged to secure their spots soonest since only the first eight teams that registered in each of the categories will be accepted.
The other categories that will be contested are the Open and Over-45; for the Over-50 division, three players at the age of 49 will be accepted. Kaieteur Sport was informed that no entrance fee will be required, but teams will be asked to deposit a refundable fee of $60,000 as collateral for their participation.
John indicated registration forms can be uplifted at Regal Stationery and Computer Centre 69 Seaforth Street, Campbellville and teams can contact the GSCL Inc. on 225 4802 or 226 4205.
