After being previously postponed due to the inclement weather the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club (ACCCC) one-day second Division 10/10 cricket competition has now been set for this Sunday 8th September at the Albion Community Development Center (ACDC), Albion, Corentyne, Berbice.
The tournament will feature eight (8) teams namely Fyrish, Chesney, Jai Hind, Tamarind Root, Belvedere United, Hamid X1, Albion Community Centre and the Kendall’s Union Sports Club.
The winning team will take home $50,000 and a trophy while the runner-up will receive $30,000 and a trophy. There will also be rewards for outstanding individual players. Trophies will be presented to the batsman with the most runs and the bowler with the most wickets in the tournament.
The fixtures-Round 1: Tamarind Root oppose Kendall’s Union, Round 2: Chesney take on Albion, Round 3: Fyrish battle Belvedere United and Round 4: Hamid XI match skills with Jai Hind.
Semifinals – Winner of Round 1 verses winner of Round 4; Winner of Round 2 vs Winner of Round 3. The grand final will be played under lights between the respective semifinal winners. (Samuel Whyte)
