Football action will resume at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground tonight with the kickoff of the fourth annual Limacol football tournament which will have the first whistle blown at 19:00hrs sharp.
Action between Mahaica Determinators (on the ball) and Police FC during the last year’s edition at the MOE ground.
The tournament has 16 teams that will go head to head in the round-robin/knockout format for some $750,000 in cash prizes.
Tonight’s fixtures will pit Dynamics FC against Police B in the opening game, while Santos under-20s will match skills with Black Pearl in the feature game that kicks off at 21:00hrs.
The event was initially scheduled to have a total of 12 teams but the organisers announced on Thursday that four additional teams have been added. There are four groups and the top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals. The groupings are as follows:

The champions of this year’s edition are set to pocket $400,000, while the runners-up will walk away with $200,000. The winner of the third place playoff will receive $100,000 and the fourth place finishers will enjoy $50,000.
