According to the ICEA executive accountants’ certification study text; ‘Management and Organisational Behaviour,’ it is stated therein, “The best predictor for one’s future character is one’s past character”. And, this is a guiding light as to what Guyanese should expect in due course of time under the PNC rule if it continues.
Further, during the election campaign that led to the election of President George W Bush for a second term, the Daily Mirror newspaper (UK) made no secret of its fears that Mr. Bush would indeed be successful at the polls.
Accordingly, when the results were announced on November 4, 2004, the newspaper ran a front page with a picture of a pensive looking President Bush with the headline “How can 59,054,087 million people be so dumb?”
Well in the same vein, I would like to ventilate that the 207,200 or 50.6% ( NOT even a full 51% to earn a simple majority government) of the voters who voted for the PNC-led APNU+AFC Coalition on May 11, 2015 with the expectation then, now and for the future, still believe that their government (one of caretaker status) will bring economic prosperity (the good life) to Guyana and unify its peoples, are probably in one of three mind frames: 1) in self-denial 2) delusional or 3) indeed so dumb to be fooled.
My apologies, but the supporters of the PNC – APNU+AFC must demand that their parties/partners and caretaker government dissolve Parliament and announce a date for General Elections as stipulated by the Constitution (within 90 days of a No-Confidence Motion validly passed) and prove the PNC – APNU/AFC worth otherwise, and stop all their antics and tricks which have permeated Guyana for the past eight months and going.
Faithfully yours,
Paul Ramrattan
