Pinnacle Communications, the parent company of RCA Television, Mega 102.1 FM and 91.7 FM, honoured the top five CSEC performers from the Essequibo Coast, yesterday.
The company, which is owned by prominent Essequibo Businessman, Alfro Alphonso, handed over monetary donations to the top students. The Country’s Top Student,Riana Toney, received $100,000, while the other four top performers received $50,000 each.
Mr. Alphonso said he was impressed with the performance of the students and wanted to make the donations to motivate other students across the country to reach for the top spots.
He said that his company will continue to support and promote the educational achievements of students in Guyana.
The top five students honoured were Riana Toney – Top Student; Charrandat Narine; Premchand Rampersaud; Ushanna Mohan and Begum Baksh
The presentation was done as part of the regional ceremony to honour the top students and was held in the regional board room of Region Two.
