As a traveller between Guyana and Toronto for more than 45 years, nothing has changed in the treatment to in-transit passengers at Piarco.
Travellers are generally comfortable knowing that they may have to wait two hours in the plane at Piarco compared to having to endure the treatment of security at Piarco. Personnel at this facility seem to have this special treatment for Guyanese – basically we are treated like a herd of cattle; we do not have the capacity to understand and have to be regimented. All they miss is a whip to ensure compliance.
These slave drivers lack the capacity to understand what in-transit means. The journey started from Toronto where we were screened and are now required to join another plane in Trinidad. We did not choose to be subjected to security at Fort Knox Piarco. This attitude reeks and I wonder when the non-Guyanese in-transit passengers pass through – meaning the whites – if this is the treatment meted out to them ?
This is obviously a letter of frustration; I know nothing will change.
