The father of 14-years-old Rabindra Khagaram Jr, who recently died after being treated at the Suddie Public Hospital, is seeking justice for his now dead son. The boy, who lived at lot 14 Henrietta, Essequibo Coast, died within 24 hours after two separate doctor appointments at the medical institution more than two weeks ago.
On Sunday July 21, last, the young man complained to his mother of feeling a pain in his left foot. Rabindra Jr was taken to the Suddie Hospital that said day and received a blood test, which showed no medical complications.
He also underwent an x-ray of his left foot. He subsequently received an injection and some tablets before he was sent home.
When Rabindra Jr returned home, he complained to his mother that he was feeling a pain in his stomach. The teen was rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital for a second time, where he received a second injection and was again sent home.
This publication understands that Rabindra’s Jr condition took a turn for the worst, mere hours following his second appointment with the doctor.
Father of the now dead teen, Rabindra Khajaram Snr said, “One o’clock the Monday morning, that was the hardest part of me life. Me son get cold sweat and this boy finger nail start get blue and he heart start beat fast, fast.”
Khagaram Jr was immediately rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital and was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit [ICU], where he succumbed hours later.
With tears in his eyes, the father said, “When me hold me son that was the last me hold me son. Me couldn’t have done nothing else but see meh son a die in me hand.”
The postmortem examination that was conducted days later on the dead teen, proved that he died as a result of Septic Shock. The Medical News Today website read that Sepsis is a bacterial infection, which occurs when bacteria finds its way into the blood stream through opening in the skin such as cuts or burns.
The family reacted in shock to the postmortem’s finding, especially since a blood test was done with Khagaram’s blood, which proved no medical complications. The grieved father believes that the hospital’s negligence led to his son’s demise.
The man said that he is pleading with the higher authorities to investigate his son’s death as he seeks to find justice.
“I would like the higher authority to look into this matter because I want justice for me child. Due to negligence me lose me son. If they did keep meh son or admit him the second time he go in, they maybe could’ve save he… Me can’t save me son; he already die, but it got others and me go like to save them people children.”
