Aug 06, 2019 Letters
Reference is made to the letter which appeared in Kaieteur newspaper dated August 4, 2019 under the caption, “Employer‘s failure to remit contributions does not hinder Employee’s benefits” and another newspaper on Saturday August 3, 2019 respectively.
Please note that contrary to what was stated in both letters, the National Insurance Scheme continues to make payments to employees of GuySuCo who have submitted claims to NIS.
As it relates to the particular case in question, it is advisable that the employee and the other mentioned in the letter make contact with the Publicity and Public Relations Unit at Brickdam and Winter Place or call telephone number 227-6851 so that an intervention could be made to determine what the real issues are for those Insured Persons.
Yours sincerely,
Dianne Lewis Baxter
