The Albion Community Centre Cricket Club (ACCCC), formally the Albion Cricket Club and Albion Sport Complex Cricket Club are presently celebrating 71 years in existence. The club was established in 1948, with its headquarters being the Albion Sports Complex now the Albion Community Development Center, Albion, Corentyne, Berbice.
Over its 71 year of existence, the Club has developed to be one of the top Cricket Clubs in Berbice and Guyana and continues to make sterling contributions to Berbice, Guyana and West Indies cricket at all levels.
In Berbice the Club’s dominance in cricket at all levels is unmatched, winning numerous tournaments over the years.
At the national level it has copped over ten Guyana Cricket Board’s “Club of the Year” Awards, the most recent being in 2017, that being its fourth within five years (2013 to 2017). The ACCCC has won numerous national titles at all levels inclusive of the 2009 Neil and Massy 40 Overs National First Division (the last national club tournament it played).
It won its first National First Division title in 1985 when it won the Bristol Cup 50 Overs Tournament under the captaincy of Michael Chin.
Albion also won the last National under-15 Tournament in 2007, the Neville Sarjoo U-16 Tournament and the Youth and Sports National under-19 Tournament on several occasions.
It has produced five test cricketers so far, in Sew Shiwnarine, Narsingh Deonarine, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Devendra Bishoo and Veerasamy Permaul, while young Anthony Bramble only recently earned his first West Indies Senior Team call up for the ongoing T20 Series against India.
Apart from those mentioned, cricketers from Albion that represented Guyana at the Senior Level include Sugar Boy Baijnauth, Amarnauth Ramcharitar, Kamal Singh, Michael Chinsammy, Sudesh Dhaniram, Fazil Sattaur, Feroz Khan, Sunil Dhaniram, Naresh Manbodhe, Azib Ali Haniff, Leslyn Lambert, Jonathan Foo, Andrew Gonsalves, Hemnarain Harrinarain, Suresh Ganouri, Anthony Bramble, Imran Khan and Gudakesh Motie.
Fazil Sattaur, Abdual Samad Sattaur and Sunil Dhaniram also represented Canada at the Senior International Level.
Apart from the cricketers mentioned above, other outstanding cricketers from Albion includes Kennedy Venkasammy, Hemnarine Chattergoon, Andy Chinsammy, Orvin Mangru, Michael Chin, Tameshwar Sewack, Asgarally Khan, Rishi Baichan, Veeram Singh, Latchman Bhamsingh, Rampersaud Ramcharitar, Nyeem Baksh, Stanley Chinsammy, Ramnarine Chattergoon, Kerwin Ganouri, Muniram Lalbehari, Veeramootoo Kalimuthu, Henry Sackichand, Kandasammy Surujnarine, Sharaz Ramcharran, Balchand Baldeo, Jacob Rhyman , Herman Perreira, Kieron Sewdyal, Adrian Sukhwa, Harrinarine Chattergoon and Imran Hussain among others.
A number of notable players from Port Mourant and other clubs represented Albion from time to time include Randolph Ramnarace, Gopi Beasmonie, Burlin Shaheed, Rudolph Latcha, Veerasammy Verapen and Hubert Evans.
Current West Indies U19 selectee Kelvin Omrow is from Albion.
A number of individuals have also served the Club with distinction overs the years in the field of administration.
