The SandPipers Cricket Club will stage its Annual Soesdyke Premier League (SPL) T10 Tapeball Cricket Tournament on August 11, 12, 18, 25 & 31.
The Venues are the Soesdyke Community Centre Ground, Latchman Sandroad, Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara and Airport Cricket Ground, Timehri, East Bank Demerara.
A total of 12 teams will be participating in this tournament. Among them are: Sandpipers A, Sandpipers B, Eccles All Stars, Kuru Kururu XI, Sarah Johannah, Redbull xi, Uprisng CC, Laluni CC, Village Ram, FarmTrack XI, Rising Star Cricket Club and Airport XI.
This tournament will be played on a round robin basis for the first round and the top 8 teams will qualify for the knockout stages; quarter finals, semifinals and finals. The semi finals and final will be played under floodlights. All games will begin at 9:30am except for semifinals and finals.
Teams will be battling for attractive prizes.
First Prize $100,000 + Trophy
Second Prize $50,000 + Trophy
Third Prize $25,000 + Trophy
Leading Wicket taker $15,000 + Trophy
Leading Runs Scorer $15,000 + Trophy
Man of the Match (Final) $10,000 + Trophy
The event has been sponsored by: Trophy Stall, Regal Stationary and Computer Centre, Singh’s Transportation Service and Equipment Rentals, C. Deokie and Sons General Contracting Services, Camille’s Academy, B & R Investment, Rubis Gas station (Soesdyke), Bashier & Sons and Sandpipers Cricket Club.
Just recently Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall presented trophies for the event to officials of the SandPipers Cricket Club for the staging of the event.
