Arguably the two most accomplished softball masters teams in Guyana, Regal Masters and Wellman Masters will once again go at it this time for the Royston Ramsarran trophy at the GNIC Sports Club ground from 10:00h today (Sunday August 4).
The 20 overs per side match is organized to honour Ramsarran, the former longstanding Organizing Secretary of the Guyana Softball Cricket Association (GSCA).
In his hay days at the GSCA, Ramsarran organized lots of tournaments and brought to the fore many talented players who are now masters of the beautiful game.
Ramsarran currently lives in the United States of America and is on vacation in Guyana so players from both teams will be rolling back the years in a festive atmosphere to honour the stalwart.
Regal Masters will include; Mahendra Hardyal, David Harper, Mohendra Arjune, Ramesh Narine, Eric Thomas, Eon Abel, Parsram Persaud, Fazleen Mohammed, Saheed Mohamed, Gamal Abdel Seenjan and Lynden Lyght.
Mike’s Wellman will see players like Lakeram ‘Mike’ Singh, Lloyd Ruplall, Wayne Jones, Greg DeFranca, Bhimsain Seeraj and Eon Lovell taking the field.
Trophies to remember the special occasion are being donated by Trophy Stall of Bourda Market in Georgetown.
