Play in the sixth annual New Era Entertainment (NEE)/Mohamed’s Enterprise futsal tournament continues tonight at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) basketball hard court from 7:00pm.
The opening encounter will see Red Line against Royal Warriors followed by North East versus LA Ballers, West Side Connections tangle with Capital Striker, West Side Ballers challenge Hard Knocks, capital Storm oppose Trend Setters and Quiet Storm take on Dave and Celina All Stars.
Over $2million in cash and prizes will be up for grabs by the respective top performers and the tournament that has three teams invited from region four will follow a group round-robin/knockout format.
There are a total of four groups with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.
The curtains will fall on the event on August 17th when the winning team will pocket $600,000, second place $250,000 and teams finishing third and fourth will take home $100,000 and $55,000 respectively.
In latest play Achievers beat West Side Connection 6-5, NK Ballers edged Trend Setter 2-1, Ward Knocks got the better of North East 6-5, Silver Bullets defeated Red Line 3-0, German’s United overcame Haynes Hitters 5-1 and NK Ballers got full points from Dave and Celina All Stars via a walkover.
