I use this opportunity to highlight a deplorable situation. A new school is being built in Good Hope, East Coast Demerara. The contractor has heavy duty trucks that are trucking in loads of sand daily, in the process damaging the already deplorable main road to the village.
Editor, the village has a one-lane wooden bridge that hundreds of people use daily, and the roads were not built to sustain this number of heavy trucks. I am pleading for someone in authority who is overseeing this project to talk to the contractor urgently to repair the damage on the road and bridge.
Regards,
Malissa Singh
