A miner who lives in the Charity Extension Scheme on the Essequibo Coast, returned to a burglarized home last Monday, after spending almost a month in the Interior.
Based on reports reaching Kaieteur News, the victim, Clint Gonsalves, departed his Charity home for the interior on July 1. During the time he was away, his wife was residing in Georgetown.
This publication understands that while the man was away, his sister-in-law was caring for the property. A close relative told this publication yesterday that last Sunday, the sister-in-law discovered that the television was missing from the home.
After further inquiries she discovered that the grill, which secured a window behind the house, was sprawled.
A thorough search was carried out and a number of items that valued some $1,235,000 were missing. Amongst the items were a number of music related hardware, which valued a total of $575,000, a Direct TV cable box, a television and a projector.
Police stationed at the Charity Police station indicated that investigations are still ongoing.
