The Albion Community Centre Cricket Club (ACCCC) is extending congratulations to Wicketkeeper batsman Anthony Bramble on being selected to the West Indies cricket squad for the upcoming India T20 series.
Bramble who hails from Upper Corentyne, Berbice, began his career with the Upper Corentyne area, but currently plies his trade as a Wicketkeeper/batsman with the ACCCC and Guyana. He is a prolific player and has been in ripping form in the past two years, both with the bat and with the gloves behind the wicket playing for Guyana in regional competitions.
He was recently selected to captain a West Indies B team in a tournament in Canada. After being overlooked for selection recently he did not give up hope. He is happy that he is being given the opportunity after his many years of hard work.
Bramble was one of the coaches who assisted with the recently concluded ACCCC Cricket Academy.
Bramble’s selection to the West Indies team is another achievement for the ACCCC. The Club has over the years produced West Indies players, the likes of Devendra Bishoo, Veerasammy Permaul, Sew Shivnarain, Jonathan Foo, Narsingh Deonarine, Sewnarine Chattergoon and Bramble.
The executive and players of the ACCCC take this opportunity to wish Bramble many successes in the upcoming T20 matches and full support throughout his cricketing career. (Samuel Whyte)
