A number of sponsors have joined forces with the 4-Horse Man Promotions Group which is collaborating with the Crawford Memorial Turf Club to stage a one day horserace meet in celebration of the Port Mourant Turf Club (PMTC) Centenary Anniversary slated for Emancipation Day, August 1st, 2019.
The meet, which will be held at the PMTC, Corentyne Berbice, is expected to see a number of major sponsors on board such as Banks DIH Limited, Trophy Stall, Attorney at Law Senior Counsel Rajendra Poonai, Jumbo Jet and Colin Elcock Delmur Trading Limited. While a number have confirmed their participation others are in the final stages of wrapping up their agreement for the event.
The event, which is a twofold activity, will be held to celebrate the 100 years for the PMTC and in memory of the achievements of the late Attorney at Law and Senior Counsel, Marcel Crawford for the enormous amount of work he did at the PMTC during his lifetime.
The days meet will see seven races being held with over $3M in cash trophies and other incentives on offer.
Over 25 horses have so far entered for the event which has the feature race listed for 3 years old Guyana-bred horses over a distance of 1300M for a winning purse of $300,000 and trophy.
The other events are the H3 and lower race running over a distance of 1300M for a winning take of $220,000 and trophy.
There is the two-year-old Guyana-bred 1000 meters event for a winning take of $220,000 and a trophy. The J and Lower event is for animals 4 years and over for a first prize of $180,000 and a trophy.
The K2 and Lower race for animals over 4 years has a winning take of $170,000 and trophy.
The race for L class open animals will see the winner taking home $160,000 and trophy over 1100M and the L1 and Lower race for a top prize of $140,000 and trophy.
All races will be run under the Guyana Horse Racing Rules and no late entries will be accepted.
