Guyanese Schools Queen’s College and the Business School had contrasting fortunes in the second round of the 33rd Sir Garfield Sobers 40-over International Schools tournament in Barbados.
In ZONE A
At Lears: – Queen’s College (Guyana) beat Presentation College by 10 wickets.
Presentation College from Trinidad made 89-9 in 40 overs as Kyle Jaltan scored 29 and Ravi Kadoo contributing 15.
Bowling for the Guyanese, who are being coached by former First-Class batsman Mark Harper, Navindra Persaud (3-13), Vinash Jaikaran (3-26) and Idris Allen (2-20) had a good day at Class.
Queen’s College in reply, reached 90-0 in 20.5 overs as Brandon Jaikaran unbeaten on 35 and Navindra Persaud with 33 not out, featured in an unbroken half-century opening stand.
In Zone B
At Gall Hill: Dominica Schools beat The Business School (Guyana) by eight wickets.
The Business School 119 all out in 31 overs (Wayne McPherson 26, Ariel Tilku 23, Andsuegga Rodrigues 11, Neo Davis 4-28, Lincoln Abe Durand 2-10, Ashton Auguste 2-21).
Dominica Schools 120-2 in 22.3 overs (Stephan Pascal 56 not out, Malacai Xavier 33, Micah Joseph 10).
