Former Mr. Guyana Body Building champion Sylvan Gardner will be competing at the Darcy Beckles Diamond Cup in the Land of the ‘Flying Fish’, Barbados, today.
Gardner who left Guyana yesterday informed that he is hopeful of putting in a good performance against what is expected to be tough competition. He is hoping that his vast experience after turning a Pro back in 2008 as well as his exploits as Guyana most successful CAC competitor, can land him a top placing in Barbados.
The Pro Qualifiers, which has 19 Pro Cards at stake, will commence at 10:00hrs today with the successful competitors moving on to the Pro Show this evening from 19:00hrs at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Center. Some USD$24,000 will be at stake in the five (5) Divisions – Body Building, Men’s Physique, Women’s Body Fitness, Women’s Bikini-Fitness, Women’s Wellness Fitness.
It is expected that more Guyanese athletes will be competing including Caerus Cipriani who will compete in the Men’s Physique category. Gardner is expressing thanks to the following sponsors for making his trip possible.
