Albion Community Center Cricket Club will be holding their 2019 Cricket Academy from Monday July 8 to Saturday July 13. The activity will be held at the Club facilities at the Albion Community Center, Corentyne Berbice.
The activity is expected to be held from 09:00 hrs in the mornings.
The main objective of this five-day academy is exposing young cricketers to the basic fundamentals of the game. The participants will be taught both theory and practical during their time at the academy.
Persons desirous of attending the academy are required to complete an online application or visit the club to have the particulars taken before the academy commences.
Over the years the club, which is one to top clubs in the country, has produced a number of outstanding cricketers, a number of whom have gone on to represent the country and West Indies on the International Level.
Sewnarine Chatergoon, Narasingh Deonarine, Devendra Bishoo and Veerasamy Permaul have worn West Indian Colours.
Others such as former player National player Sudesh Dhaniram, was outstanding. Guyana’s present wicket-keeper/batsman Anthony Bramble along with Gudakesk Motie and Johnathan Foo are household names from the club. (Samuel Whyte)
