The Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) has announced an almost 10 percent increase in the number of visitors.
For the first five months of the year, Guyana recorded 122,967 visitors.
“This is a 9.2% increase in comparison to the January – May, 2018 period which received 112,578 visitors,” the GTA said yesterday.
“Visitors from the Caribbean account for 49.4%, while those from the United States and Canada account for 31.1% and 7.1% respectively.”
For the entire year, GTA had said that 286,732 visitors were recorded, up from 247,330 in 2017.
