DEAR EDITOR,
I read in the press that the Opposition Leader, Bharrat Jagdeo, has signalled to President David Granger that he is open to him suggesting names for the Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM). This is a positive step and provides a speck of hope that some consensus can be arrived at, relative to GECOM Chairman; and points to a solution that is acceptable to the Government and the Opposition.
At some point, it has to be more about Guyana and the people of the country and less about the PNC and PPP.
Congratulations, Mr. Jagdeo, I am proud of you!
Yours faithfully,
Citizen Audreyanna Thomas
