Botafago and Amelia’s Ward Panthers are set to contest the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) / KFC Independence Linden Under-20 final this evening at the Mackenzie Sports Club venue.
The preliminary round up to the semifinal stages of this tournament, which was organised by the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA), had to be played at the Wisburg Secondary School ground since the MSC ground was unplayable.
Up to that stage Botafago were able to claim a spot in the final which is at 21.00hrs, after they knocked out Milerock 2-0 in their semifinal clash, while Amelia’s Ward Panthers, their opponent, downed Haynes and Lewis Winners Connection 5-2 in penalty kicks as both teams ended their open play with a 2-2 deadlock score.
The supporting game is between the Under 20s chosen from West and East of Linden and that game is set for 19.00hrs.
