Ariel defeated HS Masters by four wickets to win the final of the Patrick Edwards T20 softball cricket tournament which was contested recently at
Malteenoes Sports Club.
HS Masters batted first and were bowled out for 89 with Troy Lewis scoring 42. Dharam Persaud grabbed 4-12 and Shaheed Gittens 2-24. Ariel responded with 91-6. Ron Ramnauth made 30, while Gittens scored 25 to earn the man-of-the-match award.
Earlier, HS Masters beat Fisherman by five wickets. Fisherman took first strike and managed 162-6. Zameer Hassan struck eight fours
and two sixes in a top scored with 59, while Ewie Sharma made 48. Manoj Arjune and L. Sookdeo had one wicket each. HS Masters responded with 163-5. Troy Lewis hammered four fours and 10 sixes in a robust unbeaten 88; Hassan took 2-30 and Danny Thomas 1-17.
Ariel, led by a fine 81 from Gittens and 53 not out from Ron Ramnauth, defeated Regal Masters in their encounter.
