The Georgetown Football Association leg of the GFF/KFC Under-20 Independence knockout tournament is set to kick off tomorrow at the
GFF National Training Center, Providence, East Bank Demerara with a double header from 13:30hrs.
GT Panthers will open against Black Pearl with the second match between Riddim Squad and Camptown FC. On Monday action will continue with another two matches from 11:00hrs when Georgetown Football Club tackles Pele FC.
The final match of round one will then bring together Beacon and Eastveldt FC. On Saturday June 1st, the second round will commence with a match between Fruta Conquerors and the winner of the Riddim Squad/Camptown clash.
This match would be followed by a match-up between Santos FC and the winner of the Beacon/Eastveldt showdown. Thereafter, the semi finalists will take center stage.
East Demerara Football Association
Play in this Regional Member Association will continue tomorrow at the Golden Grove Ground from 15:00hrs with what is anticipated to be a humdinger of a clash between Buxton United and Buxton Stars.
At stake for the winner of this shindig is a semi final clash on Monday against Golden Stars from 14:00hrs, the second semi final pits Melanie FC against Dynamic FC from 16:00hrs.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the EDFA, Gidel Austin has informed that Golden Stars which had lost to Victoria Scorpions by the lone goal of that match has been granted another life since it was found out that Victoria Scorpions stung themselves by playing an over age player.
Regional Member Associations that have completed their tournaments to date are Rupununi FA where Strikers FC emerged champs; East Bank FA saw Timehri Panthers claiming the #1 spot; Potaro Striker won the Bartica FA leg while Pouderoyen took top honours in the West Demerara FA segment and Queenstown took top spot in the Essequibo/Pomeroon FA competition.
