Veteran Sports Organiser James Lewis and Georgetown Office Assistants group have collaborated to stage a number of sporting activities for ministries and Government Agencies in an effort to foster social cohesiveness.
A number of trophies and medals were donated by Ministers of the Government for the programme which has been dubbed the Social Cohesion Games 2019 under the theme, uniting Guyana’s work force with peace, harmony and co-operation. The activities will get underway on Friday with a dominoes competition at the Ministry of Agriculture Canteen from 17:00hrs. Entrance fee is $12,000.
The games continue on Sunday with the Tapeball competition at Durban Park tarmac starting at 09:00hrs. Entrance fee is $15,000. The curtains will come down on the activities on Monday at St. Stanislaus College ground on Carifesta Avenue with football, softball cricket and athletics commencing at 09:00hrs.
