The dedication of the Rising Stars FC coaching staff and players continues to return dividends, as their Under-20 players put on a show to defeat Wolves United FC 7-0 at the start of the Bartica Football Association leg of the GFF/KFC Under-20 knockout tournament on Monday afternoon last at the Bartica Secondary School ground.
Following a brief opening ceremony, Rising Stars went on a rampage that resulted in a hat-trick from Cleavon Murray in the 7th, 17th and 40th minutes; a brace from Joshua Jones in the 14th and 44th minutes along with one each from Ziggie Edwards (22nd) and Mark Subratie in the 60th minute.
Yesterday, Potaro Strikers FC were scheduled to come up against Beacon FC at the same venue.
Eight clubs are competing in the tournament in Bartica, with the grand final set for this Sunday. The winning club will represent the Bartica Football Association at the national playoffs.
