A dangerous game for the innocent
DEAR EDITOR,
The man was somewhat peculiar, but Sutton was full of himself and had an aura that attracted girls to him. That day he had taken a long look at the man in the mirror. He was dressed in blue jeans, red shirt and three rows of 14k gold chains around his neck. He knew that he was somewhat facially challenged, but no one dared to tell him so. There was more than enough evidence to show that he was a ladies’ man.
He remembered many times when the girls did not give him a second look, but his friend Bible, took care of that. Bible was no religious man, but he was a con man with a familiar spirit, who had convinced Sutton to sacrifice a young cow every two years on the beach by the sea. After the sacrifice, the meat was delivered to Bible’s house.
Sutton had gone to the gold fields after the first sacrifice and came back with good money. The girls also could not keep their hands away from him. This was the year of his fifth sacrifice, and he had stolen a young calf to do it. He did not tell anyone his dark secret, but he did his work on time.
He was ready for the road. But before that he had noticed some new dark spots on his body, and had visited the clinic in Georgetown where he was told to take an HIV, test. To this, he had complied but he did not return for the results. It was just a rash he perceived.
It was game night tonight and he was out play. Therefore, sweet-man Sutton stepped out in style with that Peter McIntosh tune ringing in his head. “I am a stepping razor don’t you watch my size I am dangerous.”
Yes! Somebody was going to get hurt tonight .The modern day dancehall had become a place of predator and prey. Everyone who enters the doors becomes a target for the kill. A dangerous game for the innocent!
The bells of death chimes identifying itself with names of men. The place of consensual fun have become a place full of the smell of white roses and cheep perfumes.
Step light my brother why take the life of the innocent? Why kill another sister? Why be angry at Life for mistakes you made? Why go to the grave a coward Mr. Sutton? To the sisters that do the same, what a shame!
