The Linden Town Week (LTW) Champion of Circuits cycling event organized by the Linden Bauxite Flyers Cycle club (LBFCC) with the main sponsor being the National Milling Company of Guyana (NAMILCO) has been deemed a resounding success.
Club Secretary, Jeffery Yearwood informed that the turnout was better than expected especially since the event and course, were new to the cyclists. A total of 41 riders from around Guyana accepted the challenge.
The circuit used was on the Wismar shore; the event started and finished on Burnham Drive. Riders battled through the Post Office street taking the only climb of the circuit then through the Wismar Housing Scheme, until the 1/2 Mile Public Road and back to Burnham Drive.
Sending the riders on their way for the first event after delivering remarks at the opening ceremony was Mr. Haffeez Khan of NAMILCO. The feature event was sponsored by Essential Supplies Inc. Clear Waters while other sponsors included Beepats, Stronghold Minerals Inc., Star Party Rentals and Vishal Auto Toy Store. Gracing the event was Her Worship the Mayor of Linden, Waneka Odetta Arriendell.
