Guyanese swimmer Aleka Persaud turned in some outstanding performances to capture three gold medals at the CARIFTA Games swimming championship which concluded on Tuesday last in Barbados.
Persaud was the best swimmer in the girls’ 11-12 category as she won gold in the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle and 100m butterfly.
She also copped bronze in the 50m butterfly and the 200m freestyle and placed fourth in the 200IM event.
In an invited comment, Persaud heaped praises on the Almighty and thanked her parents, Coach and others who lent their support. She promised to continue training hard to make Guyana proud.
