Fuh years dem boys was talking how people cut deal wid de airport project. De whole project start when some Chinee Ambassador waving he hand full of money.
De man was going to Jamaica and since Guyana don’t like to see money, it follow de man till to Jamaica and tek some of de money to repair de Timehri airport. From de time de project start was nuff problems. De project start without anybody supervising de contractor.
Instead of three years, de project tek six years and it ain’t done yet. De money spend on it is more than wha de whole project should cost.
Now is one big row about who telling lie and who mek de project expensive. Wha dem boys know is dat people thief nuff money. De contract seh dat sand would be free once it come from a 12-mile radius. Dem boys see when de Chinee contractor was tekking sand to do de runway. De sand come from right next door.
De next thing dem boys hear is dat Guyana pay US$35 million fuh sand. It mean dat somebody collect US$35 million. Patto seh is not he. Since he blaming other people wha been in charge before he, de opposition people now looking to see who tek de money.
Robeson write a letter and he claim how he was in charge of de project and he ain’t tek no money. But dem boys notice he didn’t sign any contract. Robeson asking wheh de money gone, since Patto seh he not paying de contractor.
Dem boys know dat when people breach a contract dem does got to pay. But dis contractor benefit from de delay. When dem was bringing in material from overseas, if dem wan ten, dem import thirty. Dat is how some projects get free material and some get cheap material, because dem didn’t have to pay duty.
Nuff people mek money from dat airport project. Dem boys waiting to see who gon go to jail. Dem want an audit, but de government and de opposition not going down dat road.
Talk half and watch how one airport got people hiding money.
