The Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) held another successful weekend camp at the National Gymnasium as they prepared for the Inter Guiana Games tournament scheduled for French Guiana May 1 – 5.
The last IGG Volleyball competition was held in 2017 and the Guyana boys won the male division, while the women finished in second place.
President of the GVF, Levi Nedd, in a release to the media, noted that he is pleased with the team’s training session so far and he is also calling on public to support for the sport.
Nedd will act as coach of the boys’ team on the trip to French Guiana, while Yannic Fingall will perform the duties of assistant boys’ coach and head coach of the girls’ team.
Rodney Fredericks is the girls’ assistant coach, while Vanille Chester will act as the Chaperone.
Both teams will have their final session this Friday at the National Gymnasium.
Nedd is also inviting volleyball players to come out today at the Number 63 Beach on the Corentyne, to participate in their fund raising Bar-B-Q and beach volleyball competition that commences at 09:00hrs.
Trophies are up for grabs are donated by Ansa Mcal.
