Dear Editor,
After spending time listening to freedom radio, hearing the PPP/C describing the APNU/AFC government, it makes me wonder who exactly are the “corrupt, thieves, liars and incompetent government?”
It was under the PPP/C administration where corruption was rampant, citizens freedom of speech violated. Guyana became a known drugs transshipment destination. Then there were the death squads which had made the streets of Georgetown bloody with their drugs turf war, protesters were assaulted and shot while protesting for their democratic rights, and there are many MORE examples of the road to nowhere for which Fip Motilall was awarded a whopping US15.4 million contract to build the road to the Amaila Falls. Talk about corruption!
Can the PPP/C say if under the APNU/AFC government such has ever occurred? Even the media was stifled in their quest to report Guyana’s affairs in a fair and balanced manner. It is well recorded that journalists had difficult times when trying to report; for example, Gordon Mosley was blocked from coverage of the former president Jagdeo’s office.
Guyanese, let us open our eyes and accept that all of these examples are only some of the atrocities which occurred under the PPP/C administration. Why did they not implement these promises they are now making when they were in office for 22 years? Why are they only coming now?
The PPP made promises for 22 years and did not fulfill them but coming now to make promises again and acting innocent to persuade Guyanese.
Come on PPP/C stop painting the APNU/AFC with the same brush. So far, they are not like you and will never be.The APNU/AFC remain committed to serving their country, for all Guyanese.
Yours Sincerely,
CeionRollox
