Captain of the Bydarabo Uprising Female Team, Lera Carter receives the winning trophy from Deputy Mayor of Bartica, Ms. Arita Embleton surrounded by her teammates.
First timers, Bydarabo Uprising led by the Most Valuable Player of the Final and the Highest Run Scorer, Ronella Bacchus waltzed their way to the championship trophy in the final of the Bartica Easter Regatta Female Cricket competition which ended on Wednesday at the Bartica Community Center Ground.
Bydarabo Uprising, playing for the first time as unit defeated Kartabo Power Rangers Sports Club to take away the spoils in the seven-a-side/5-Overs competition. This was eth second year that Kartabo Power Rangers have ended second best.
Captain of the winning team which received a trophy and cash incentive, Lera Carter said that she was very proud of her charges performances which propelled them to the title in their debut tournament.
Tournament MVP and the Highest Run Scorer, Ms. Ronella Bacchus receives her trophy from Deputy Mayor, Ms Arita Embleton.
The other members of her winning unit are Alexis Sutton, Keisha Seenarine, Ronella Bacchus, Kristal Sutton, Maxidella Timberman and Teisha Kenswil.
In the male segment, Agatash, led by MVP of the final Andrew Simmons who smashed 27 and Kurt Welcome who lashed 14 guided their team to a commanding 48-1 off their three overs; the quota of overs being reduced due to fading light.

‘Kero’ Conhaya leading with 19 and Earl Joseph, 14. The Most Runs in the competition was scored by A&L Mining’s Messiah Joseph while the trophy for the Most Wickets was presented to Joseph’s teammate, Wazid Husman.
Trophies were presented to the top two teams in both the male and female competitions; the top individual players also landed trophies. The sports programme is being organized by Michael Dos Santos.
