Title holders Uprising, who became the first team in the tournament’s history to win a zone as a qualifier will headline Day 1 action in the East Coast Zone of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Competition which kicks off on Friday, at the Haslington Market Tarmac, commencing from 19:00hrs.
They face Non Pariel in the final of eight games scheduled to be played on the evening.
Hosts Haslington Hypers are also set to appear in the penultimate game, while top teams such as Buxton Diamond, Melanie A and B, Victoria Church Yard, Plaisance A and Beterverwagting A and B will make their appearance in the competition as well.
The tournament which has grown both in terms of quality and crowd support is expected to continue in that vein, while many are already touting that the turnout this year could exceed previous years.
The Organisers have already indicated that fans and the community will be the real winners of this year’s competition with giveaways planned for each night’s activity.
