Special Miracles Ministries, (SMM) Royalty Centre Church has marked yet another milestone.
The Church, last Sunday, hosted a special ceremony which marked 30 years of ministry for its founder/leader, Archbishop Wingrove Babb.
To commemorate the event, several distinguished men and women of the cloth as well as friends and family of the Senior Bishop gathered at the Church’s Lot 203 Freeman Street, East La Penitence, Georgetown Headquarters to pay tribute to him for his labour in the Kingdom.
During the ceremony, Archbishop Babb was presented with accolades, gifts and tokens of appreciation.
Those present, lauded him for his steadfast faith, vision and generosity throughout his years of ministry.
As a preacher and teacher of the Gospel, Babb through his ministry, would have impacted the lives of his fellow preachers – who would reach out to him for advice.
His work spans beyond the walls of the church and the community.
Archbishop Babb said that due to his work as a preacher he has worn many hats.
He explained that a Bishop’s work surpasses shepherding his flock/ church.
“In addition to the administration of the church, I have to be gentle and wise enough to deal with people from all walks of life, as well as their problems.”
He believes experiences have helped him to become a better preacher and human. It is these experiences, Babb say that helped mold him into the father figure— he is today.
As such, Babb noted, “Through the grace of God and today I say, like Caleb, “I’m still strong to go out and come in.”
“These years were full of learning and growing experiences and I thank God for the teachers he placed in my walk to help me along this journey and I thank them too for being faithful.
“I thank God for the Church, close friends, my grandmothers who taught me the fear of the Lord, my aunts, uncles, my own family, especially my Queen, Amy, who is the best wife any man can ask for and get… in this case me.
“I am grateful to my faithful covenant partners, both local and International.
“You guys have been a tower of strength, and I know GOD will always shower you with blessings.”
The Preacher, who expressed love for his country and desires to play a more meaningful role in its development, opened his own church, Special Miracles Ministries, in 1994.
The Pentecostal movement, started as a prayer group which later developed into a church.
Before that, he sat at the feet of great men and women of whom he poured water upon their hands and was honored with the privilege to have received their blessings.
Through-out his career, Archbishop Babb has been honoured by his noble contributions to the work of the Body of Christ.
Just Last year he was bestowed with honorary doctorate from World of Life Ministries International (WOLMI) and the Canadian International Chaplaincy Association, (CICA)—a UN accredited Church.
In addition, Babb who was instrumental in the formation of ZADOK; an Independent Ministers’ Fellowship, was on Sunday presented with a special token of appreciation.
