The city was without water yesterday after a major break in a transmission main, located between the Bank of Guyana and the National Library, on the Avenue of the Republic and Church Street.
The Guyana Water Inc. (GWI) disclosed that the break is due to an aged infrastructure network which has weakened over the years.
Technicians were working yesterday to replace the broken main and restore water to residents within the swiftest possible time.
